Designed for mental health professionals, social workers, counselors, case managers, advocates, and others supporting people impacted by trauma. Trainings may be taken individually and offer 3 CAMFT CE credits each for eligible professionals.

This course aims to provide therapists and mental health professionals with the essential tools and knowledge necessary for continuing education for therapists to effectively support immigrant communities during times of heightened discrimination and adversity. Participants will learn about the unique challenges faced by immigrants in the current political climate, as well as strategies for providing culturally responsive therapy that is both culturally sensitive and empowering.
Additionally, participants will explore the impact of anti-immigrant policies on mental health outcomes and learn how to incorporate trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices into their therapeutic approach. Topics such as understanding the intersection of immigration and mental health, building trust with immigrant clients, and advocating for social justice will be covered in depth. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid foundation for providing compassionate and effective therapy to immigrant communities.
